Music has the power to take us to places that nothing else can, whether it is reliving old memories, looking towards the future of getting that all-consuming feeling that makes the hairs raise and spine tingles straight to your core.
I look back at some of the bands I loved when I was a going through highschool with Simple Plan and Linkin Park topping the list and every time I hear one of those songs it always takes me back to a difference place that I remember quite well because when I enjoy a song I don’t listen to it once or twice I listen to it on replay all week and then usually give myself a break from it.
Music helps us out of some dark places but it also helps us celebrate the times when we are at our peaks. From being able to relate to a song completely and knowing someone else gets it to just throwing on your favourite jam and busting out some dance moves that will go down in history.
Music is surrounded by so much talent as well not just the vocals. Some of the producers out there are absolutely incredible and they are really starting to get the recognition that they deserve. When you listen beyond on the vocal of a great song and just listen to how it was constructed you just know it took absolutely genius to compose that into what it is now.
Dance also plays a huge part in music, especially now with video clips being an aspect of music that artists can’t ignore. In fact in Justin Biebers latest video clip, yes I am mentioning Justin Bieber in the blog and I am not ashamed to admit it, it is incredible what he has achieved. In the latest video it is put together by Parris Goebel and her dance crew ReQuest. They are an incredible group of dancers from New Zealand and you just have to watch the video clip to see their talent hitting it hard on your screen. It is hard not to be energized and want to get up and show your own subpar dance moves.
I don’t know about you but music can lets you feel emotions that you just can’t speak, it takes you to a place that no-where else can.
Don’t dance like no-one else is watching, dance like everyone is watching and embrace it! – Jimmy Dalgleish
