I am so lucky to have people in my life that just make me smile no matter what. No matter what is going on or what kind of day I have had, there is always someone I can turn to that will just make me laugh.
Tonight I was reminded of that. By one of the most beautiful people I know.
I had a rough day, the stress levels were high and it just felt like I was being approached from every direction being asked to do something new and then when you finished and there are always 10 changes that need to be made that could have been avoided with better planning.
I have had a lot of time to think over the last few weeks writing this blog daily, it is very therapeutic and just a time to chill out and enjoy writing some content. But lately I have been stuck in the same routine. Wake up at 7am, at work by 9am, leave work at 5pm, home by 5:30pm get my 6,000 steps on the treadmill which takes an hour, finish my blog post which can take anywhere from 1-2 hours and by the time I have done all that there is usually an hour or 2 to spare and then that it my whole day done.
It just really feels like it is lacking substance sometimes. You just want to get away and have another adventure or work towards building a career around a lifestyle that you want to live for the rest of your life.
Despite all these thoughts it always comes back to the people in my life and what they mean to me. I have so many friends that I can just pick up exactly where we left off the last time we spoke. A lot of the time I wish they didn’t live so far away which is the reason I haven’t spent more time with them. This is often something I take for granted and don’t realise how lucky I am.
Instead of always wishing that they were a much bigger part of my life I need to be grateful that they are part of my life in whatever capacity I can get.
This blog post tonight is not a massive one but just a short reminder to value the people in your life who make you happy and try to surround yourself with them as much as possible.
The people that make me laugh are definitely the people I would like to add to my 5 people who you become the average of.
My challenge to you this week is to step out of your comfort zone and do something out of the blue for someone who means a lot to you. I don’t mean like giving them a call to see how they are but actually put some time and thought into something and get it done.
Thank you to everyone who has bought a smile to my face at one point or another.
