I see this in internet marketing time and time again. Some are valid and some are definitely not.
The internet has become the home of online scams which has many people sceptical about every aspect of the online world.
The assumption is if people are making a living online they are ripping people off in some capacity and it’s just not true in the majority of situations.
I am part of many online marketing groups and forums and there are some people that I have learned a lot from in the process. I have been inspired by how they are able to build their lists and earn an online income from hard work and providing value.
I always come across sceptics and people that just want to constantly bring other people down when they are providing value to an audience. Some people in this world expect everything for free and I am glad there is a shift happening between free content and valuable content.
Some marketers choose to release their best and most value packed work for free in order to get some traction to their offerings. Others will offer lead capture material which is usually in the form of a small PDF you get for free with limited value in order to get you to sign up for their mailing list.
It is interesting to see how every successful marketer deals with their haters. Some will address them front on and refute some of the rubbish claims, others won’t even acknowledge them and would rather just continue to focus their energy on helping their audience regardless of what anyone thinks.
Today I was reading some comments aimed at one of the online marketers in a group I am a part of. The owner of the group had promoted this persons product unknowingly to him as a way of saying thanks for all his valuable contributions to the group.
At the time I didn’t know what the product was and I was more than likely going to buy it regardless of what it was as my way of saying thanks for all the valuable information they had provided. The only thing that would have prevented me from doing so was some outrageously overpriced package.
When I started reading the feedback 90% of the feedback was positive and congratulating this individual on releasing one of his first products. But then you read the messages from the sceptics and they are hurtful, damaging and honestly they were just questioning the integrity of this particular individual.
When I first read the negative comments I thought maybe the price is quite high and they think this person is trying to take them for a ride. I was absolutely shocked when I opened the offer to see his short course that he was offering was $7! That’s right 7 whole dollars. That the price you’d pay for a pint of beer in most places these days and here I was reading comments of what a scam it was and how this course couldn’t be legit and bad mouthing this individual who had offered a lot of his own time and knowledge to the community.
It reaffirmed something I have known for quite some time now. If you are doing something and you are successful at it, chances are you will be brought down by the people that want to do what you’re doing but are unsuccessful at it. They are negative because they don’t understand the process, they don’t understand why one person can be successful at something and they can’t and they express this in a counter-intuitive way.
If you are chasing your goals in whatever industry and whatever job and someone tells you that you can’t do it or you’ll never be able to do that, seriously just cut them loose as soon as you can. What they are really trying to say is that they can’t do it and they could never reach the heights you want to reach. Take a chance, go all in and give it your all.
There are already enough negative people in this world already, don’t surround yourself with any more than you have to. This includes on social media outlets. Hide those people that want to complain about everything from your feed. Look for the people that are sharing new experiences, goals and aspirations.
