During Primary School the 5th grade students are assigned a Prep Student to be there buddy to ease them into their first year of Primary.
I was extremely fortunate to end up with the Buddy I had. She wasn’t my assigned buddy to begin with but after a turn of events I ended up swapping Buddies before the year started.
During 4th grade we were required to write down 3 other students in our year level that we would like to have in our class the next year. I wrote down my 2 best mates and a girl I had a huge crush on at the time. Well to cut a very long story short my 2 best mates were put into one class and I got put in the class with the girl I had a crush on.
Mates before dates! Lesson well and truly learned. Anyway there was a girl in the other class that had a similar situation occur so we ended up swapping classes before the year started. During the swap of classes though we also swapped Buddies.
I was worried about how my Buddy would take it at the time because she was the only female Prep student with a male Buddy but we got a long really well, she was super shy as well but I don’t think I could have got a better Buddy she was absolutely no hassles at all. The Buddy I was supposed to have, was by all reports a handful.
It's funny how little things like that can alter someones live forever. Had I not changed class who knows if the turn of events would have led to me writing the blog right now. It just goes to show how the smallest of decisions can have huge and everlasting impacts on our life.
My Buddy contacted me this week wanting to catch up. There was no way in the world I would have said no she is such a sweet heart. So I ended up catching up with her today over a Boost Juice (Jamba Juice for you Americans) and before I even knew it 2.5 hours had passed.
We talked about anything and everything. But each time a great topic came up I would always think to myself wow I could really blog on that in great detail that would be great example of a good post. It just showed me the impact blogging is having on me currently. I am taking in more information and exploring simple ideas and expanding on them.
My Buddy is a little inspiration to me, she has been through a lot with various health issues and every time I see her she always has a smile on her face and is always upbeat.
I always feel that people come into our lives or back in our lives at the perfect time. I’m a huge believer in putting what you need out to the universe and it coming back to you in some way shape or form.
Today was a fantastic day and tomorrow is set to be a big day as well with the AFL Grand Final on full display!
