This name won’t mean a lot to many of you. In fact to me it is just a name I see in my email inbox regularly because I am subscribed to Scott’s mailing list. But he is also someone who has greatly inspired me along the way.
Scott was the founder of Live Your Legend a motivational website to inspire you to follow your passion through a movement he had created.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman
I resinated with Scott because the way he conveyed his message and set out his content was very consumable.
I was shocked today to read in a fellow internet marketer Corbett Barr blog who was very close to Scott that he had passed away in a tragic rock climbing accident during his 8 month around the world trip.
Scott was definitely living a very blessed life from what one can gather looking in from the outside. But from hearing his story it definitely wasn’t easy for him in the beginning, he had a passion that he worked on for 4 years before seeing 1cent.
He broke out of the mould and was living the life of an internet entrepreneur making his living off his Live Your Legend website. This is a fantastic resource.
I couldn’t help but be reminded how short life can be sometime and we can be taken at any time, unfortunately for Scott it was at the peak of his life but just looking at how many lives he has influenced he has definitely made a change in the world and left his mark.
The following is Scott’s TED talk which really goes into inspiring possibility and doing what you love. It must be a liberating feeling knowing you are living your life the way you want, with no regrets.
Take a moment to watch Scott’s TED talk.
Thank you for being an inspiration Scott, thanks for your Live Your Legend movement and thank you for having the strength and passion to follow your dreams and doing something that matters to you and making an impact.
Go out there and make the change in the world that you were meant to make. Do the things that inspire you to inspire others to do the things that inspire them.
