So this blog started off as a way to improve my writing and just getting into a routine of writing regularly and I have been happy with how it has progressed.
But something I wasn’t expecting happened the other day. I started getting backlinks from other blogs who had been reading the blogs. For those who aren’t SEO crazy like myself a backlink is hyperlinked text with in an article from another blog or website that links back to my blog.
I straight away started second guessing what I had written. The challenge was to produce regular content and it has definitely been at the mercery of high quality content. If this blog was to ever get big the quality would need to improve drastically and that is part of the reason of changing the 365 day challenge to a 100 day challenge.
It raised some important points, when my next website is launched I want the content to be something I am truly proud of and work I genuinely want to promote quite vigorously. Promotion is my next learning phase which I am very eager to get into.
Initially I was getting feedback from friends and family, but when I started getting feedback from people who I respected in a professional sense my thoughts started to change. I didn’t want to be judged on the content of this particular blog and on the other hand I thought it would be a good opportunity for them to see my personality in my writing because it is very raw.
Also this gives the opportunity to just see how much I have learned from what I carry on into my second website. It is the wave now, project I get myself involved in I want it to better than the last one purely by implementing everything I have learned from past experiences and taking it from there.
What I learned from this experience is once your stuff starts getting noticed don’t start to go back into your shell. Keep doing exactly what you were doing, work towards improving and carry the momentum.
